We teach students to build with AI.

Random Forest Education is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We run free AI and coding programs for students ages 9–14 at schools and libraries in the Bay Area.

Random Forest is run by students at Stratford Preparatory Blackford.

What we believe

Build an application
Students design and build their own applications during the program.

Learn to code
We teach Python, model training, and how to publish an application online.

Understand the model
Students learn how training data affects predictions and how to evaluate a model.

Small classes
We keep classes small so instructors have time to help each student.

Share the finished project
Students publish their applications online and present them at the end of the program.

Free for everyone
We're a nonprofit. AI education shouldn't depend on what your parents can afford.

Our story

Spring 2025
The first workshop
40+ students joined our first data science workshop and competition at Stratford Preparatory, run with the SPB AI & Data Science Club.
Summer 2025
The first AI Explorers camp
30 students at the San Jose Public Library — West Valley Branch built their first AI apps. All 30 finished a working project.
Fall 2025
Growing the team
20 more students joined at 7EDU Impact Academy. We brought on Max and Danica as instructors — students teaching students.
Spring 2026
New partners, new instructors
15 students at the San Jose Public Library — Biblioteca Latinoamericana Branch. Joshua and Alan joined as instructors, expanding our teaching team.
Fall 2026
The second workshop
Our second annual data science workshop at Stratford Preparatory, with a morning of lessons and an afternoon team competition.

Just getting started
300+ students reached across our camps, workshops, and hackathons, and a mission to make AI building accessible to every student.
